Discover rural Catalonia & Medieval walls

In our small group we will visit the beautiful medieval city of Girona and explore the ancient city walls, hike a local green route and even pass by a few game of thrones filming locations for those who are interested. First we will meet in the centre of Barcelona, then catch a short train to Girona, I will take care of your tickets, included within the price. When we arrive to Girona we will make out way to the old town centre and whilst passing magnificent architecture (churches, Arabic baths, monasteries) we will walk to the amazingly restored medieval city walls. We will explore these walls and marvel at the amazing views they provide whilst also learning a little about the history of the city. We will pause for a typical Catalan picnic where you will have the opportunity to try some of the classic local foods. After an early lunch our afternoon will be spent just outside of the city, exploring the natural surroundings of the city, working our way through old riverbeds and rural areas and eventually climbing past a monastery to a green hill with the most amazing views of the countryside. After this hike we will have a well earned rest on the train back to Barcelona
